jog.fm - Running music at your pace App Reviews

i wish i had known

I wish I had known that you have to BUY the playlists you make in addition to buying the app. I love that songs are grouped by BPM but said to purchase-repurchase songs again.

Useless

Worthless. Ignored other reviews hoping for some redemption, but fail. Wont scan my library past 4%. What a waste of money!!

Terrible

Will not analyze my songs beyond 4% no matter what time of day. SAVE YOUR MONEY!! I wanted to run a half marathon for pace with this app, instead just wasted money and a whole lot of time!!

Awesome!!

I saw the negative reviews for this app, but liked the concept so much that i decided to buy it anyway and just cross my fingers that i wouldnt have the scanning problems that past versions seemed to. It scanned my (very large) library in a matter or minutes and is amazing! The playlists it creates have tons of variety and its perfect for keeping me going when im starting to get tired during a run. This app is so amazing, i dont have to ever manually create a playlist for a long run!

Yuck yuck yuck

I was hoping this app would pick up some of the songs I thought it would based on my noted pace. Not even close. For an 8:30 mile, it pulled up slow David Gray and Avett Brothers. I know I have some rockin songs on my phone. David Gray--really? Youre better off finding a few songs with the desired BPM and Googling songs with similar BPMs.

waste - only plays from your library

Was sorely disappointed after purchasing to find out that it only plays songs from those that Ive downloaded to my iPhone. Waste of money. I can build my own playlist of my music. Was expecting to have access to a streaming music library.

A bit buggy

It occasionally gets stuck when switching between songs, but I remain optimistic.

Worst App Ever

Please use pandora instead! No point paying approx $3 for this useless piece of crap!

Great app if you have an extensive library!

I have a pretty extensive library on my iPod, and this app has helped me find music for my workouts. As another reviewer noted, it wont suggest music from jog.fm or other sources, but it does a great job of identifying the beat rate of your existing music and matching it to your pace (either by detecting your movements or by using a set minutes/mile rate). I like that you can tag music as favorites and also blacklist it from your workouts (a great feature if you dont want all your Christmas music to start playing!). I found the app to be a bit slow at times and wish it had a button for restarting a song, which is the only reason I cant give it 5 stars.

Great app but....

This is a great app but it could use a better way to shuffle. When I use it at a specific pace the same songs play in the same order every time. If it shuffles then I wouldnt hear the same songs every time.

Extremely disappointed!!

I thought I was getting access to streaming music! I searched for 20 minutes on the app itself and on the website before I finally found a sentence that informed me I would have to download the music to my phone! What was the point of paying $3?! I want my money back!! :(

Love it

I love that it works with your own library which limits it to playing only the songs I like. It did a great job picking songs to match my pace. Even put in a few that were a little challenging.

Good concept but...

it doesnt work consistently. I set my run time and nothing plays, even after trying many different speeds. Shouldnt be a paid app for being so faulty.

Doesnt pace with the true rhythm

Very disappointed. If you pace yourself to the true beat of the music, this app falls short in finding a song. I have tried to use it several times, but get very frustrated at the song selection.

Pretty cool...

This app is a great idea but, as some users have pointed out, you need a lot of varied speed music for it to work well; which leads me to my feature request: Add the ability to list your songs by BPM or approximate pace. It would be awesome to know before I start running that I only have one or two songs for a 8:00 pace. Keep up the good work!

Doesnt work

Glad I spent 3 bucks on an app that wont even scan my library

Hopeful!

Love it! Im training for my first half marathon and prefer to match my cadence to a song when working out. I dont want to spend a ton of time manually locating songs with the correct BPM and creating playlists. I have high hopes for this app!!

Disappointed

Great concept. Doesnt work.

Worthless

Great concept but it does not work. Plus, the app will not allow you the same features as the website. I wish I could get my money back. $3 is too expensive for this crap. I could have just created my own playlist from iTunes, or got on Pandora.

Disappointing

I run about a 7:30 average pace, and the songs that were coming up were slow country songs, reggae, and slow rock... TWO steps in my cadence per music beat- not one. Not exactly energizing.
